Bermuda 2050 — the film, this site, and the world they describe — is the personal creative work of Hannes Heyns. It is authored, not stewarded: one person's what-if, published under his own name, with no committee to approve it. Stories need authors.

The goals. It began with a single northstar — designing the best place to live on Earth — which became ten drafted national outcomes. Then a global film prize created the reason to render those goals as a story you could feel. And the loop closed: making the film changed the goals — the first update in their public changelog came from what the story revealed.

Today, honestly: still the author — but they are being given away, in public, by design. The process has begun: one hundred Bermudian voices rewriting the goals on the record, every change logged; a ten-day public feedback window; ratification by representatives of every walk of island life; then publication — the moment the goals lock, with their full changelog, under an independent nonprofit built to hold them. From that day the author is one voice among many. This site links to bermuda10.com; nothing flows back. The nonprofit will not endorse this fiction, and never needs to.

Stated before anyone asks: the author's businesses serve companies that come to a growing Bermuda. If the island wins, he does too — alongside everyone else on it. That is alignment, not neutrality, and it is disclosed here so no one has to discover it.

An official entry in the Future Vision XPRIZE, submitted August 2026. The film was being made regardless; the prize is a distribution accelerant on a decision already taken.
